As School District No. 67 prepares for the start of the 2026-2027 school year, district and school leaders are working to ensure that all of our schools are ready to safely welcome students and staff back for a successful start to the year. We recognize the ongoing impacts of the Bald Range fire on some members of our school community, particularly in Summerland, and our thoughts remain with those affected as recovery efforts continue.
With respect to all of our schools:
- All SD67 schools have had HVAC adjustments, including filter changes, mechanical checks and air flow adjustments
- Portable HEPA filters have been running in different locations
- Schools have received deep cleaning protocols – including outdoor area pressure washing, playground equipment cleaning, and interior surface and floor cleaning
- District staff and school administrators will continue to monitor air quality and make appropriate adjustments to outdoor activities as necessary, and improve indoor air quality as the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) changes
- Boil water advisories have been lifted in Summerland and Trout Creek, and all taps have been run for 15 minutes
